Loss and grief are part of the human experience.
Unfortunately, they are rarely a part of graduate training
in the helping professions.
Now the Portland Institute for Loss and Transition is attempting to redress this imbalance by offering training leading to a Certification in Meaning Reconstruction in Loss, open to students and professionals from a variety of disciplines interested in a meaning-oriented approach to bereavement support and grief therapy.
Level 1 Certification involves a total of 55 hours of training, offered in a convenient mix of Core Courses, Techniques Modules, Case Studies, Individual Mentoring, Dyadic Practicum, Orientation to Meaning Reconstruction and Session Evaluation components, in a convenient and affordable mix of onsite and online formats.
Training Faculty include leading international contributors to research and practice in meaning reconstruction, offering professional continuing education and consultation in a range of languages.
